Terms
The rules of the venue, and what W.J.M Exchange does and does not promise you. Last reviewed 22 August 2026. Read them with the privacy notice, which covers your data.
1. Who runs this
W.J.M Exchange is operated by a private individual in Norway — the same person who plays as the house account inside Capital Rift. There is no company behind it, no organisation number and no staff.
Contact: joajoh06@gmail.com. That is the address of record — use it for anything you want in writing, including a complaint, a dispute about a decision, or anything to do with your data. The W.J.M Exchange Discord is where the operator and the moderators actually are and is faster for everything else.
Norwegian e-commerce law (e-handelsloven § 8) expects a service provider to be identifiable and reachable. W.J.M Exchange publishes an email address and not a postal one; if you need a postal address — for a formal complaint, or to involve an authority — ask at the address above and you will be given one.
2. What W.J.M Exchange is, and what it is not
W.J.M Exchange is a place where Capital Rift players list their in-game empire as a company, issue shares in it, and trade those shares with each other against a W.J.M Exchange cash balance. That balance is denominated in Capital Rift in-game currency.
- It is not a bank, a broker, an exchange or a payment service in any legal sense. W.J.M Exchange is not authorised or supervised by Finanstilsynet, is not a member of any investor or deposit guarantee scheme, and nothing on it is a financial instrument.
- Your balance is not a deposit. It is a record of how much in-game currency the venue owes you. It is not insured, not guaranteed, and not protected by anybody if the venue fails.
- Nothing here is investment advice. Prices, yields, the W.J.M Exchange index, the fundamentals shown against a listing and anything a moderator says are information and opinion, not a recommendation. Fundamentals are self-reported by each founder’s own game session and are bounded, never audited — a founder can push numbers that are wrong.
- No real-world value is offered, implied or supported. W.J.M Exchange does not buy or sell Capital Rift currency for money, does not price it in money, and has no payment rail in either direction. If you obtain in-game currency for real money somewhere else, that is a transaction between you and that third party, at your own risk, and it does not become W.J.M Exchange’s concern by being brought here.
3. Who may use it
- You must be at least 13. An account that declares an age below that is stopped and its sessions ended. 13 is the age of consent for online services in Norway.
- The casino and borrowing are 18+. Everything else — trading, banking, listing a company — is open to anyone 13 or over.
- You are asked your date of birth once, and only a moderator can change it afterwards. It is a declaration, not a verified fact; giving a false one is a breach of these terms and is grounds for closing the account.
- One account per person. Do not share it, do not sell it, and do not sign in as somebody else. Your session is authority over your money.
4. Money in and money out
Deposits and withdrawals are in-game transfers, reviewed and executed by a human. That has consequences worth being explicit about:
- There is no timing guarantee. A deposit is credited when a moderator has matched the incoming transfer; a withdrawal is paid when the operator has made the transfer. Both can take hours or longer, and both depend on one person being awake.
- A withdrawal is only ever paid to a verified game username, because a payout to an unproven address is a payout to a stranger. A verified username cannot be edited afterwards.
- Capital Rift’s own limits apply. The game caps how much a player may receive per day by their loyalty. W.J.M Exchange cannot pay you faster than the game will let you be paid.
- Granted cash can be frozen from withdrawal. The signup bonus is spendable immediately and cannot be withdrawn for 7 days, so a throwaway account cannot be spun up to cash it straight back out. It trades from the first minute; only the exit is held.
- Solvency is measured, not promised. The reserve backing player balances is shown on Reserves, and it can read short. W.J.M Exchange tries to hold what it owes and tells you when it does not. It does not guarantee that everyone could withdraw at once.
5. Trading
- An order reserves what it owes the moment it is placed — cash for a buy, shares for a sell — so the same money cannot back two orders. Matching and settlement happen together; there is no confirmation step and a filled trade cannot be unwound because you changed your mind.
- A listing can be halted or delisted, by a moderator or automatically, when the empire behind it resets, goes quiet, or reports something that cannot be true. A halt stops trading and leaves your holdings where they are.
- Founders can sell their own shares, subject to lock-ups, and can restart their in-game run at any time — which zeroes the fundamentals a share was priced against. Vesting and lock-ups blunt that; they do not remove it. A share in somebody’s empire is a bet on that person continuing to play.
- Distributions are voluntary. A founder may pay shareholders and may stop. Past payments promise nothing about future ones.
6. Borrowing
The house lends against holdings, to 18+ accounts, at the operator’s discretion — a request can be refused for any reason or none.
- Interest is 5% per day and it compounds. There is no term. A debt left alone doubles in about a fortnight; this is not a mistake in the design, and it is your responsibility to watch it. Each loan keeps the rate it was issued under, so a change in policy never rewrites what you already owe.
- Borrowing is capped at 50% of the value of what secures it, and a margin call follows at 80%. The venue may sell collateral to close a call.
- The operator may write a loan off. That is a decision about the venue’s books, not a gift, and it is recorded.
7. The casino
The casino is 18+, house-banked and provably fair: every outcome is fixed before the bet by a server seed whose hash you are shown up front, and rotating your seed reveals the old one so every past bet can be recomputed and checked.
- The house edge is 2%. Over enough bets you lose. That is what an edge means, and no strategy changes it.
- Stakes and winnings are in-game currency, which W.J.M Exchange does not buy or sell for money. There is no cash prize, and nothing here is offered as one.
- It can be switched off without notice, and would be if the legal position changed. Balances are unaffected if it is.
- If it stops being fun, stop. Ask a moderator to close your account and they will.
8. What the venue may do to your account
W.J.M Exchange is moderated by people, and the powers below exist because a venue holding other people’s balances has to be able to fix things. Each one is logged against whoever used it.
- Correct a balance, in either direction, with the reason written into your ledger where you can read it. This is how a mis-sent grant or a stuck approval gets fixed.
- Cancel resting orders, when a correction needs the cash they reserve.
- Halt or delist a company, refuse a deposit or withdrawal, or refuse a loan.
- Suspend or close an account for breaking these terms — sharing or selling an account, impersonating another player, claiming a game username that is not yours, pushing fabricated fundamentals, abusing bonuses through multiple accounts, or attacking the venue. Where an account is closed for abuse, the venue may withhold granted cash and gains made from it; it does not keep money you deposited.
- Erase an account at your request — see the privacy notice for what survives and why.
If you think a decision was wrong, say so — on Discord for speed, or at joajoh06@gmail.com if you want it in writing. There is one operator and no appeals process beyond that; pretending otherwise would be inventing a procedure that does not exist.
9. Availability, and the end of the venue
W.J.M Exchange is provided as it is, with no promise that it works, stays up, or keeps your data intact. It runs on shared hosting, it depends on a game whose API it cannot read, and it is maintained by one person in their spare time. It can break, lose an hour of activity to a restore, or stop.
If the venue closes, the intention is to announce it in the Discord first, stop new deposits, and pay out balances to verified game usernames while the reserve lasts. That is an intention, not a guarantee — the reserve is what it is on the day, and it is shown on the Reserves page precisely so you never have to take that on trust. Download your records before you need them: Download CSV on Banking is your ledger, and Download everything is the rest.
10. Liability
W.J.M Exchange is free, run as a hobby, and moves no real money. To the extent Norwegian law allows, the operator is not liable for losses arising from using it — including in-game currency lost through a trade, a bad bet, a compounding loan, a halted listing, a founder resetting their run, an outage, a bug, or the venue closing.
Norwegian law does not permit anyone to disclaim liability for intent or gross negligence, and this page does not try to. It also does not remove any right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
11. Your data
What is collected, why, for how long and what you can make it do about that is in the privacy notice. Two things worth repeating here: your ledger and trades are kept as long as the venue runs, because they are how it proves it can account for what it holds; and the per-minute readings your extension pushes are kept for 90 days.
Trades and company activity are public. A market with secret prices is not a market. Your handle appears against the trades you make and the company you list. Your balance, holdings and orders are not public.
12. Changes, and which law
These terms can change. A change that matters will be announced in the Discord rather than quietly edited, and the date at the top says when this was last reviewed. Continuing to use the venue after a change means accepting it; if you would rather not, ask for your account to be closed.
Norwegian law governs these terms, and Norwegian courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
